Some columnar epithelium tissues are the component of chemical substances and this tissue usually occurs in various glands of the animals. There exists two types of glands :-

  1. Unicellular Glands - Such types of glands are usually found in the intestine and mucousic membrane and secrete mucous.
  2. Multicellular Glands - These glands are composed of more than one glandal cells and these are located at the depth. When the secretion occurs and comes out through veins it is called Exocrine Gland. But the glands in which secretion occurs and there is complete lack of tubles then it is called Endocrine Gland. Further, multicellular glands are of two types -
  • Tubular - Sweat Gland, Oily gland of the skin etc.
  • Alveolar - Resembles like bag and outlets through the holes the Poison Gland, Salivary Gland etc.
