1. original jurisdiction : the India constitution of article under 226 empowers the high court to issue a writ to any person or authority with its jurisdiction for any fundamental rights or explanation .

2 . Apparently jurisdiction : high court hears both appeal in criminal or civil cases against decision of district court to re consider the case. the high court has the power to give fresh judgement in such cases.

3 . Advisory jurisdiction : according to the article 227 the constitution the high court can extend its power of super intendence to all courts under it's jurisdiction expect those dealing with arm forces operating under it's territorial jurisdiction .

4 . under article 228, the high court can also supervise the functioning of the sub ordinate courts .
