OS: It is a software which sits between the user and the computer which makes interaction possible with ease.
The functions of OS are:
• Since it is a multi-manager, it manages all the resources viz CPU, memory, printer, scanner, disk drive, etc. This plays a significant role in “memory management” to carry out multi-tasking and keeping in mind about the “allocation and de-allocation” of memory.
• Provides services for the application software to run smoothly
• Acts as an “bridge / interface”
