through placenta,the nutrition is provided to the baby present in the mother's womb and also the waste is also excreted through placenta

Functions of placenta:
1. The placenta allows diffusion of gases from mother to foetus(oxygen and nutrients) and from foetus to the mother(CO2 and urea).
2. Placenta produces the hormones called estrogen and progesterone.
