Septum:- The septum is used to separate the two chambers of the heart containing two different types of blood, namely oxygen rich blood and deoxygenated blood, such that they can be separately pumped out of the heart.

Valves:- The valves present in the heart prevents the back flow of blood.

when blood returns to the heart from the body it fills the right atrium the tricuspid valves then opens allowing body to be pumped to the ventricle below.
