The Stomata are the pores through which most of the i.portant functions of the plant takes place. The Stomata is just like our lungs-- Without this,the plant will not be able to survive. The Stomata is this very important for the survival of the plant.

The functions of the Stomata as as Follows:--

1. It helps in gaseous exchange

Plants need oxygen for survival. This takes place during night. During day , carbon dioxide elimination is the main process,I.e, carbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is given out by the very important process called Photosynthesis .

2. Transpiration

Transpiration is the prices by which plants lose excess water in order to cool themselves during summer.
