Supreme court is the highest court in the country. it is the final court of appeal. It is founded on 29 October 1954. It is headed by the chief Justice of India who appointed by the president of India. At present, the supreme court has 30 other judges who are appointed by the president in the constitution with the chief justice.

Functions of supreme court in India :-
♥ It takes up appeals against the verdicts of the High Courts , other courts and tribunals .
♥ It settles disputes between various government authorities , governments and between the centre and any state government .
♥ It also hears matters which the President refers to it in its advisory role .
♥ The law that SC declares is binding on all the courts in India and on the Union as well as the state governments .
