•The CM is the leader and the head of the legislature.
•He controls the legislature.
•His position is similar to the position of the prime minister.
•He appoints the ministers in the state government.
•He determines when the sessions are to be summoned.
•He makes important policy announcements on the floor of legislature.
• If he is unhappy with a minister he can ask him to resign or shuffle the council.
