The functions of stomata are :

1) The exchange of gases ( CO2 and O2 ) with the atmosphere.

2) The loss of excess water in the form of water vapour which is known as transpiration .

the stomata are the small openings present in under surface of plants growing on the ground.They help in exchange of gasses during photosynthesis and for respiration.They take in carbon dioxide during the day and release oxygen .And at night they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
