What are the functions of two upper chambers of the heart?

Two upper chambers are Left atrium & Left ventricle. Left atrium will absorb the oxygen present in the lungs is absorbed &this di oxygenated blood enters to the heart by pulmonary veins & pulmonary veins to left atrium,and then left atrium to left ventricle and then it moves to aorta & aorta to different parts of the body
