Explanation:

The wall of the small intestine contains finger-like projection into the intestinal lumen called villi.Between villi there are small infoldings called crypts. The absorptive cells on each villus is characterised by a brush border. These brushborder consist of many fine projection called microvilli. Villi and microvilli there is a intestinal lamina propria and lymphatic capillary called lacteal. This combination of villi and microvilli increases the surface area for absorption of nutrients.
