There are 6 principles that Mahatma Gandhi followed: Truth: learning from your own mistakes and conducting experiments on yourself. Nonviolence: nonviolent resistance connected in a way to religion.
The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi starts today and gives us an opportunity to recall the four fundamental principles that Mahatma Gandhi taught: Truth (satya), non-violence (ahimsa), welfare of all (sarvodaya) and peaceful protest (satyagraha)

- To promote agricultural and animal husbandry; improving breeds of cattle and preventing cow slaughter.
- To promote cottage industries.
- To establish village panchayats.
- To raise the level of nutrition and the standard of living of its people; improvement of public health.
- Prohibition of the consumption except for medical purposes of intoxicating drinks and of drugs injurious to health.
- Environment protection including that of forests and wildlife.
- To take steps to separate the Judiciary from the Executive.
