WheN HCl + Zn Reacts,it liberateS hydrogen gas only .

Zn + 2hcl -------> ZnCL2 + H2

when it reacts with ZnCO3

CO2 gas is leberated

ZnCO3+HCL ------> ZnCL2 + CO2 + H20
