Paddy is a kharif crop. Geographical factors suitable for paddy cultivation require temperatures above 25° C and humidity above 100 cm. In areas where there is less rainfall, paddy cultivation can be done with the help of irrigation etc. Paddy is cultivated abundantly in the North Eastern plains, coastal areas and delta regions.

Wheat is a Rabi crop. The temperate climate is suitable for wheat cultivation. The temperature of 15° C is ideal for sowing wheat and the  26° C temperature is the best at the time crop cutting. The 90-day sunny clear weather is the most suitable season for the growth of its crop. 50 cm rainfall is sufficient for wheat cultivation. Excess rainfall is harmful for wheat crop. Loam black soil is suitable for wheat cultivation.
