Geographical Conditions of Growth:Rice grows best in areas of warm, humid climate; rice requires temperatures between 20°C and 35°C and a well-distributed rainfall of about 100 cm or irrigation facilities. Fertile soil. Delta and valley soils are the most suitable.

it is a kharif crop which requires high temperature (above 25 degree C) and high humidity with annual rainfall 100cm.
in the areas of less rainfall,it grows with the help of irrigation.rice is grown in mostly north or north-eastern areas , Coastal areas and the deltaic regions.
