what are the harmful effects of factory waste? how are they neutralized?
Answers
As factory waste is disposed directly, it is more concentrated and more toxins are directly released in the air which also pollutes it by combining together with greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon monoxide to form more harmful toxins which can even cause death. This wasted is neutralised by a base called slake lime which is mixed which some alkaline liquids. This mixture is filtered and passed through the waste absorbing the toxins and at last the waste is cleaned up.
Several industries produce acids a waste. If released on both land and water it can cause harmful effects on organisms that live on both land and water. If the factory waste is directly entering in to the water bodies it could pollute water and cannot be used for any human consumption, can destroy crops and kill many aquatic life in the water bodies. In land if more acid related waste are in the land it could evaporate and cause acid rain which could wipe the vegetation or animals living in the area.So factory should be neutralized before disposing.factory waste are neutralized by Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) . In wastewater treatment plant waste water is treated using a series of physical, chemical and biological processes. After 48 hours of treating waste water now can be used for human consumption and for cultivating crops .This water is neutralized and can be discharged to the water bodies.
