1. It helps in easy trade between West Asia,Africa and European countries.
2.Longer coastline means more no. of sea ports which contribute to more trade.
3.Marine life is a livelihood for the residents living near the coastline.
4.More no. of offshore mineral resources and is suitable for setting up oil refineries.
5.It gives India a prominent place at the head of the Indian Ocean with easy access to the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal

India's long coastline gives several advantages to the country. The trans-oceanic routes connecting Africa, industrially advanced Europe, petroleum rich west Asia to southeast Asian countries, China,Japan, Australia and western coast of USA pass through India. Hope you will like the answer.☺
