The initial period of plenty, which prompted early humans to settle down in certain areas permanently, saw an increase in their population. With more mouths to feed, over a period of time, such permanent settlements faced shortage of food and shelter.

Human population is ever expanding.

To accommodate this ever increasing population, there is a constant need to create new settlements.

Most of these permanent new settlements are made by clearing forests and generating space.

This disturbs the natural flora and fauna of the area.

This also damages the ecological balance of the area and disturbs the weather pattern.
