Answer:
The drainage system or the river system of India is mainly divided in Himalayan and penisular river system
the himalayan river system is the group of rivere which which flows in Himalayan part of india and which have a larger flow as they are flowing from hills. river ganga is longest flowing river of india 2525kmwhereas;
Penisular river system:- as we can understand from the word penisular which is derived from the word peninsula which means a peice of land which is surrounded by water frkm three side so it is the penisular river includes only the river which flows in penisular part of india which from the western ghat to eastern ghat the penisular rivere are then further divided in eastern flowing rivers(the one which drains in Arabian sea)and western flowing rivers (which drains in ibay of bengal) western flowing rivers are narmada tapi etc and eastern flowing rivers are godvari ,brahmputra kaveri Krishna etc.......
The river godavari or dakshin ganga is the longest river of penisular part of India
the penisular river have low flowing speed because of lack of slope and this the reason of short distance of river from its origin
