Given : margin of error

To Find :  sample size

Solution:

SE  = Standard Error   = basically SD of Sample.

Standard Error  = SD of population / √(sample size)

n = sample size

SE = SD/√n

Margin of Error = Half of confidence interval

=> Margin of  Error = z *  Standard Error

Margin of Error = ME

ME = z * SE

ME = z*( SD/√n)

=>√n = z * SD/ME

=> n = (z * SD/ME)²
