There are three intensive periods of growth in a human being.

Explanation:

The periods of growth are:

  • The Prenatal period which extends throughout the nine months inside the mother's womb;
  • The first year of infancy which follows the pre-natal period;
  • Adolescence which extends between 12 to 18 years.
  • These three periods are very crucial because each of these periods experiences an intensive growth and any disbalance or malfunction of hormones the growth will be retarded causing a handicap.
  • During the prenatal period the entire body of the foetus begins to shape and grow. The brain grows the fastest so this growth is highly crucial.
  • In the first year of infancy the various body parts begin to grow rapidly. This growth prepares the body to perform all bodily functions.
  • Adolescence witnesses the most crucial growth before adulthood. The child’s body now grows into an adult . Restructuring occurs as the body prepares for the final growth.
