Mahatma Gandhi has given many lessons to his disciples, countrymen, and mankind. Those lessons if followed or practiced meticulously, can lead to prosperity, contentment, and happy life. Let’s see a few of the many good lessons taught by Mahatma Gandhi to the coming generations:

1. Non-violence: Mahatma Gandhi has taught mankind to follow the path of non-violence, especially dealing with violent and critical situations. It is true, violence can be overcome through non-violence only. He proved it through his life. If all the people, societies, countries practice non-violence, this world of ours will become a heaven of peace. I would like to practice his lesson of non-violence in my life and be a good citizen.

2. Simple Living and High Thinking: Gandhi Ji stressed upon the principle of ‘Simple Living and High Thinking’. Many of the unnecessary stresses, conflicts, and tensions can be kept at bay by practice this lesson. I would also like to adopt it.

3. Gandhi also taught his countrymen the lessons of self-reliance, forgiveness, positive thinking, etc.

Mahatma Gandi was one of the most famous freedom fighters in history. He was mainly known for his methods of freedom fighting. His use of non violent tactics in an attempt to make a point was a part of his lessons.

Gandhi had given many lessons to his disciples who tried to follow his legacy.

He shared the values of keeping peace and believed that if such methods were followed that would lead to ways of achieving a prosperous and successful life.

- He believed in Non-violence:

In case of coming across violent and critical situations one must stand still and let them know that "we will not be raising the hands and lifting swords, just voices"

He explained this through use of non violent ways of protesting by fasting.

- He believed in looking at the bigger picture. Many of the unnecessary stressing situations and useless conflicts may be avoided by keeping nuisances at a minimum.

- Gandhi was an optimist who believed that by thinking positive; positive things will happen. That looking forward and keeping hope was what kept him going.

As a good citizen some qualities may be adopted. I do understand that not voicing opinion is a problem but people could try to look at the ways of giving their messages. Try to build tolerance in them. Thats how they can become good citizens.
