what are the limitations of energy obtain from the ocean

the powerplant of this energy is not planted anywhere or at the bank of the ocean and also only big waves helps in produce energy.so the main limitation is we not get large energy and also it is costly.

limitations of energy obtain from the ocean are-
1.High dams are required to be built to convert tidal energy into electricity which incurs lot of cost...
2. very strong waves are required which are not possible all the time...
3.Tidal energy depends on the relative positioning of the Earth, moon and sun..
4. To harness ocean thermal energy, the difference in the temperature of surface hot water and cold water at depth must be 20 degree C or more...
