One of the limitations of extracting energy from wind is that a windmill requires wind of speed more than 15 km/h to generate electricity. Also, a large number of windmills are required, which covers a huge area. (b) Very strong ocean waves are required in order to extract energy from waves.

The limitations of extracting energy from wind are- (a) high speed winds are not available everywhere. (b) a minimum speed of 15km/h is needed for windmill (c) initial cost of production of electricity is high (d) it requires a larger landmass. (ii) waves- waves energy is commercially viable at the places where waves are strong (iii) strong tides are not available everywhere
