the limitations is Rutherford's model of atom r as follows :-
1)thete Is a positively charged sphere on the center of an atom called nucleus and all the mass of atom lies in it.
2)The electrons revolve around the nucleus in circular orbits.
3)size of nucleus is very very small compared to the size of atom.
observations :-
1)Fast moving alpha particles passed through the gold foil
2) some alpha particles were deflected by foul by small angles
3) one out of ever 12000 particles appeared to rebound
