hello.....

•The French govt under the  Emperor Louise XVI was almost under a huge debt.....

• so the govt imposed huge taxes on the French citizens to meet the expenditures...

• kings nobility and clergy lived in lavish life whereas the common people of France lived in misery and were burdened with heavy taxation........

•The clergy also collected separate taxes called Tithes from the people.

•All these factors combined together and took the shape of the French Revolution in 1789...

thank you..

the main causes of French revolution are:-

1) Culture:- the enlightment philosophy desacralized the authority of the monarchy and the Catholic Church and promoted a new society based on reason instead of tradition.

2) Social:- the emergence of an infuencial
bourgeoisie which was formally a part of the third estatebut had evolved into a caste with its own agenda and aspired to political equality with clergy and the aristocracy.

3) Financial:-France's debt, aggravated by the French involvement in the american revolution led Louis 16 to implement new taxation and to reduce priviledges.

4) Economic:- The deregulation of the grain market advocated by the liberal economist resulted in an increase in bread prices. In periods of bad harvest it would lead to food scarcity which would prompt the masses to revolt

5:- Political:- Louis 16 faced strong opposition from provincial parlements which were the spearhead of the privileged classes resistance to roval performs.
