The main causes of indias agriculture stagnation during the colonial period were :
1) Britishers demolished handloom industries.
2) They made India a ready cheap market for their machine made goods.
3) the forced farmers to grow indigo due to which several parts of india loses fertility.
4) They forced them to use fertilisers in unlimited quantity.
5)they forced labour to work for longer hours which is not possible in their own country.
