  • The region receives a greater share of annual rainfall from the south-west monsoon during the months of June to September.
  • The 'Damodar river basin' (DRB) is a 'sub-basin' and it is the 'part of the Ganges River' spread about an area of bout 23, 370, 98 Km2 in the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal.
  • The Damodar valley has big reserves of mica and coal, and the area is highly devoted as an industrial belt.
