1. The Easter Ghats mark the Eastern edge of Deccan plateau .

2.They are discontinuous and irregular and dissected by rivers draining the Bay of Bengal.

3.They lie parallel to the Eastern Coast along the Bay of Bengal .

4. The highest peak is Mahendragiri with a height of 1501 m.

5. Their average height is 600 meter.

6 .The eastern half of Himalayas has the higher altitudinal extent than Western Ghats .

About Western Ghats :

1. The Western Ghats mark the Western edge of the Deccan plateau.

2.They are continuous and can be crossed through passes only.

3.They lie parellel to the Western coast along the Arabian sea.

4. The highest peak is Anai mudi with a height of 2695 meter.

5.Their average height is 1600m.
