They are sick and tired of having a dictator at the helm, or indeed any of his family, who are all in important positions. 
They hate the secret police, who are controlled by this dictator. 
They want to see a fairer division of the oil wealth, currently, supporters of this regime receive more than their fair share of this wealth. 
They have no freedom of speech or political choice. 

DEMANDS  
Qaddafi, his family and their followers must relinquish power and leave Libya. 
They want to set up a democratic political system. 
They want a constitution that defends their civil rights and gives them political choice, and freedom of speech. 
They want a government that divides the oil wealth more equally amongst the population, while planning for the future, for when this oil revenue runs out. 
They want a Libya that is not in the worlds headlines for of all the wrong reasons, as Qaddafi's regime has continued to do over the last 30 years.
