The main difference between similar and congruent figureres is that if two figures look alike then they are similar but if two figures overlap each other completely i.e. have same corresponding dimensions then they are congruent.
Ex.: Given,
any two circles.
we can say that they are similar since they have the same shape but they are congruent only when they have the same radius.
