What are the main differences in the design of a compound microscope and a terrestrial telescope?

Explanation:

1) the microscope is meant to magnify very tiny objects, whereas a telescope makes the distant objects looks closer(which are though very large,but too far to view with naked eye).

Astronomical telescopes are used to see distant objects in a magnified size while compound microscope is an instrument used to see object which are very small to be seen through our asked eye. It is used for observing magnified images of objects. It is consists of a converging lens of small focal length.
