Apartheid is a system of racial discrimination.It may be based on their colour,skin,caste or religion.
It's main features are,
It segregate the people.
It favours the one group of the society
Universal adult franchise is abolished
It leads to a revolution
Subsistence crisis and hyper inflation occurs.

The features were the division of people, oppression and employment limits

  • It was a 19th-century system of institutionalised racial segregation
  • It existed in South Africa. The features were -
  1. People were split into two groups: black and white, with the latter receiving preferential treatment.
  2. People of colour were oppressed. They were not permitted to dwell in the region reserved for white people.
  3. They may only work in white zones if they had a valid work permit.
  4. Such people were also not allowed to constitute political parties.
