THE MAIN CHARACTERISTITICS OF CHINESE CIVILIZATION ARE :

1. Confucianism. Confucius was an ancient chinese philosopher that stressed the importance of a harmonial relationship between the ruler and subjects, teacher and students, husband and wife, father and son etc. This ideology persisted until today in east asia.

2. Taoism. Taoism is a philosophical concept that tried to help a person to find a balance way or method to reach one’s goal within the environment and the relationship between the human body and nature. Yin & yang is an example of taoism between the positive and negative force in the world.

3. Strong Hierachy. Ever since the Qin dynasty unified the different chinese states, the concept of a single chinese empire became the identity for the common chinese people as successive dynasties reunitied China again after wars and disasters. Chinese nationalism stressed the requirement of a strong central government without opposition provided the authorities could increase the lifestyle of the chinese people.

4. Hanzi. Hanzi was first created from the oracle bones during the Shang dynasty with different logograms which later evolved into a semi-phonetic set of pictographs that illlustrate the meaning of the word. These characters called hanzi became the lingua franca in east asia before mandarin language became official in China. Hanzi unified sinitic languages as one character could be read differently but written similiarly.

5. Education and wealth. Education became very important for chinese people since ancient times when the imperial examination was introduced to the common public for a chance to work with the chinese emperor regardless of social status. This is one of the method that could remove someone from poverty and increase their personal wealth. This influence the chinese people today in tuition classes and only enrol in professional studies like doctor, architect and engineer so that they can have a good and rich life later.
