The main features of the national rural employment guarantee act 2005 are-
1. Also known as Mahatma Gandhi employment guarantee act 2005 or Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment guarantee Act 2005 was a poverty alleviation scheme that was initiated keeping in mind the poverty-stricken condition of the rural people. It was implemented to develop the social condition.
2. It was officially implemented on August 23rd, 2005.
3. It aims to elevate the living conditions of the rural population by contributing 100 days of wage employment to them in an accounting year. It also aimed at construction and increasing assets of public usage like roads, ponds, canals, and others that would indirectly aid the betterment of the rural people.
