The rainfall in these regions is approximately 200 cms which mark its name and have high mositure content temperatures as they are located near the equator. The plants found in these regions are mostly tall and hardwood type with broad leaves for transpiration of excess water. Trees form canopy(a structure made by trees which cover the ground and act as a roof) which allow only limited amount of sunlight to reach the ground. The diversity of this region is high enough to accommodate variety of species of terrestrial animals and birds.
