Cerebrum: is the largest part of the brain and is composed of right and left hemispheres. It performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement.

Cerebellum: is located under the cerebrum. Its function is to coordinate muscle movements, maintain posture, and balance.

Brainstem: acts as a relay center connecting the cerebrum and cerebellum to the spinal cord. It performs many automatic functions such as breathing, heart rate, body temperature, wake and sleep cycles, digestion, sneezing, coughing, vomiting, and swallowing.

The main parts of the brain are as follows :-

1. Cerebrum : The cerebrum is the main seat of intelligence and memory . It controls each and every activity of our body . The cerebrum helps us to memorize things . It helps us to reason things . It is the main part of the organ of our body that controls all other organ systems of the body . The cerebrum is divided into many parts : occipetal lobe , frontal lobe , parietal lobe , temporal lobe . These parts are responsible for the vision , smell , etc.

2. Cerebellum : This part of the brain maintains body posture and balance . When a person drinks alcohol , the cerebrum does not coordinate the balance properly and hence the person's muscular activities are not proper.

3. Medulla oblangata : This part of the brain helps to coordinate the functioning of all the involuntary organs of the body . The heart is an example of involuntary organs .
