Function of election commission of India are:
1) prepare electoral rolls for the purpose elections to the office of President and to Parliament.
2) The Election Commission shall perform suchfunctions, in addition to those specified in the foregoing clauses, as may be prescribed by this Constitution or by any other law.
3 ) it also judge the free and fair elections.
4) it controls the powers of political parties and prevent them from wrong doing towards citizen.

Functions of Election Commission in India :-
1️⃣ To approve parties and candidates whether they are eligible for Election or not.
2️⃣It decides the date of polling and the date of announcements of results
3️⃣ It checks whether the political parties are following the Code of conduct (rules for Election) or not. If not, then EC eliminates the party or the candidate.
4️⃣ During elections, the EC controls the ministers not the government.
