the os is a computer program that manages all the other programs on your computer system, stores all the files in an organised manner and coordinates the use of hardware such as mouse and keyboard.

Operating system is help in interaction between user and hardware. It have many function like as - memory management, processor management, file management etc.
Example,
FILE MANAGEMENT - it control all information about file like file deleting, file creating, file sharing.
