Other than chlorophyll in green plants it also have another pigment called" Accessory pigments", which is slightly different molecular structure than chlorophyll that facilitates absorption of different colors on the light spectrum.Plants need to make these accessory pigments to maximize the amount of photosynthesis they can do.
