Answer:

Contemporary historians and travellers give very scanty information about tribes. A few exceptions apart, tribal people did not keep written records. But they preserved rich customs and oral traditions. These were passed down to each new generation. Present day historians have started using such oral traditions to write tribal histories.

Answer:

The various source material used for studying tribal history is official document ,gazettes , newspaper, and biographies of the recent year.

Explanation:

The historical sources can be of two types, i.e. Primary and Secondary Sources. A primary source is the evidence of an eye witness or mechanical device which was present at the time of the occurrence of an event.Primary & Secondary Sources

Primary sources may include diaries, letters, interviews, oral histories, photographs, newspaper articles, government documents, poems, novels, plays, and music. The collection and analysis of primary sources is central to historical research. They use oral traditions and rich customs of the tribal people to write their (tribals') histories.

Primary sources help students relate in a personal way to events of the past and promote a deeper understanding of history as a series of human events. Because primary sources are incomplete snippets of history, each one represents a mystery that students can only explore further by finding new pieces of evidence.
