As India had it's close relations with USSR, it's disintegration has affected India in many ways. Some of them are,

* There no major support anymore for India in the issue of Kashmir as USSR was supporting India on the issue before.

* India had acquired the socialistic ideology from USSR. When it failed in USSR, there was a growing skepticism in India about socialistic principles.  

* India was forced to liberalize it's economy as there was no USSR to back it's closed economic principles. It resulted liberalization, privatization and globalization(LPG) in India.
