Internal migration in India is observed from rural to urban areas. Main factors responsible for his kind of migration in India can be enumerated as follows:
Lack of urban facilities like education, medical facilities and infrastructure etc.
Adverse conditions of poverty and unemployment in the rural areas works as a ‘push’ force for the villagers to leave their villages.
Increased employment opportunities and better living conditions in urban areas works as a ‘pull’ force for the villagers to move towards the urban areas.
Major pull is towards the metro cities or the capital cities of its sates.
As per the Indian market system even if the farmers are able to have good crop production they still don’t get good reimbursements and so move on to try in jobs not related to agriculture.
Interstate migration can be accounted for overpopulation in a state which leads to lower job vacancies.
