Major factors affecting photosynthesis are–
1) Light - photosynthesis can't occur in dark and the source of light for the plants is sunlight.
2) Intensity - photosynthesis begans at low intensities of light and increase till it is maximum at the brightest time of the day.
3) Quality - chlorophyll most efficiently absorb red and blue wavelength from the entire spectrum of light. Thus, maximum photosynthesis occur when the plant is exposed to the light of these wavelengths.
4) Duration - The longer the plant is exposed to the light, the longer the process of photosynthesis will continue. As long as the temperature remains balanced, photosynthesis will occur.
