During mitosis, there are four stages of cell division: Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. During prophase, two aster-covered centrosomes migrate to opposite sides of the nucleus in preparation of mitotic spindle formation. During metaphase, the kinetochore microtubules connect to the centromere.
