The male accessory ducts are vasa efferentia, epididymis, vas deferens, and rete testis. They play an important role in the transport and temporary storage of sperms. On the contrary, male accessory glands are seminal vesicles, prostate glands, and bulbourethral glands.

Answer:

The male accessory ducts include -

  • Rete testis
  • Vasa efferentia
  • Epididymis
  • Vas deferens

The male accessory glands include -

  • Paired seminal vesicles
  • Prostate glands
  • Paired bulbourethral glands

➸ The male accessory ducts store and transport spermatozoa out of the urethra. The seminiferous tubules open up into Rete testis, which opens into Vas efferentia. The vas efferentia opens into epididymis leading to vas deferens. A duct is received from the seminal vesicles into Vas deferens, which opens into urethra as ejaculatory duct.

➸ The accessory glands contribute seminal plasma, etc. to the semen. The seminal plasma is rich in fructose, calcium and certain enzymes. These secretions help in nutrition and activation of the sperms. It also helps in lubrication of sperms and reproductive system.
