The microorganism which can fix atmospheric nitrogen in the soil is bacteria. There are several species of bacteria capable of fixing nitrogen, but the most widely known species are Azotobacter and Rhizobium.

The harmful microorganisms not only damage the human body but also the food we eat. Some microorganisms spoil food, clothing and leather. Disease-causing microorganisms in plants like wheat, rice, potato, sugarcane, orange, apple and others reduce the yield of crops.
