The major irritants in sino Indian relation are written as follows:

  • Border Disputes

The 3,488 km border between China and India has not yet been completely defined. The border is divided into 14 categories. In the Aksai Chin region of Ladakh, there is a Line of Actual Control that China took control of during the War of 1962. 90 000 km² of Arunachal Pradesh continues to be considered South Tibet by China. In addition to the eastern and western sectors, Uttarakhand also has a middle sector, which China claims for a territory of roughly 10,000 km². Even after numerous rounds of negotiations since 1986, all of these issues are still unresolved.

  • Border Trespasses

The world's highest altitude regions are where India and China's border is located. The world's tallest mountains are the Himalayas, while Tibet is home to the world's highest plateau. Both nations are dedicated to building infrastructure to the final mile and see their borders at various points on the ground. Complaints of invasions are the outcome. The two countries' powerful militaries make the situation more challenging.

  • Arunachal Pradesh and Stapled VISA

China started giving stapled visas to inhabitants of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir to raise the stakes against India. India has voiced its extreme disapproval of China's use of these measures, claiming that Beijing is undermining India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The practice of providing stapled visas to Jammu and Kashmir residents was discontinued by China in 2011. However, it still exists for Arunachal Pradesh residents.

  • String of Pearls

China has an unspoken String of Pearls strategy to encircle India. This entails constructing navy stations and ports throughout India's marine regions. To encircle India, China has been active in the Indian Ocean. India, on the other hand, has been attempting to establish deeper ties with the nations that border China.

  • River Water Dispute

Water sharing on the Brahmaputra River is a major cause of conflict between India and China. On the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra, known in Tibet as the Tsangpo, China has been constructing dam after dam. Although there is no official contract regarding the sharing of the Brahmaputra water, India has protested against it. Furthermore, China has been hesitant to provide information regarding the Brahmaputra's water level, putting a significant portion of the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam at risk of an unexpectedly massive flood.

  • Terrorism

While China has always defended Pakistan on every occasion, India has consistently criticized terrorist organizations and named Pakistan as the primary source of terrorism. China has obstructed India from requesting sanctions against Masood Azhar, the head of Jash-e-Mohammed, at the UN.

  • CPEC (China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor)

China has made significant investments in Pakistan and refers to it as its friend. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which traverses Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, is being built by China. India is against the CPEC. India views the construction of the CPEC as Chinese meddling with its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
