The major reasons for the slow growth of handloom and hallndicrafts in jammu and kashmir are the machines especially in the weaving and handloom sectors should be upgraded .Even though India produces high quality yarn by spinning,these high quality yarns are not utilised by the handlooms etc.

To promote weaving in Jammu and Kashmir , the technological sector is not very advance . Even the people living there do not have proper knowledge about this art. This is why the growth of weaving and handicraft industries is not very high
