The major sources of energy in rural households of India are Fire wood & cattle dung cake.
The major problems faced due to these sources are:
1.Using Cattle dung cake is discouraged because Cattle dung cake consumes most valuable manure which could be used in agriculture.
2. Due to decreasing forest area use of firewood as fuel is becoming difficult.
Here are some Suggestions to solve these problems :
a)In the rural areas awareness must be developed regarding the non conventional sources of energy like biogas ,solar energy, wind energy ,etc. it will contribute to environmental conservation and increase the supply of manure for agriculture.
b) In rural areas government should take initiatives in setting up the biogas plants.
